The fast-growing social enterprise everyone.org, which helps patients all over the world gain access to the latest approved medicines, is excited to announce that  CEO of Marktplaats and eBay Benelux general manager, Olivier van Duijn, will be joining their Supervisory board.

During his last few years at Marktplaats and eBay, van Duijn was responsible for growing these classifieds sites into the leading marketplaces in Belgium and the Netherlands. Under his leadership, a successful business transformation was initiated that led these platforms to sustainable double-digit growth enabling monthly trade between more than 14 million sellers and buyers.

In addition to his work at Marktplaats and eBay, he also fulfilled management positions within KPN Telecom and was involved in the founding and rapid growth of Funda.nl, the leading Dutch real estate platform. Prior to joining eBay in 2010, Olivier took on a variety of strategic roles within Reed Elsevier, establishing online recruitment platforms in the Netherlands, Germany and the UK. Now, van Duijn brings a wealth of online experience to the everyone.org Supervisory board.

‘When I first learned of the mission and purpose of everyone.org, it immediately appealed to me,’ said van Duijn. ‘everyone.org works every day to help increase everyone’s global access to medicines, whoever or wherever they are. You shouldn’t have to wait up to 5 years to receive a life-saving medication that is available abroad but not in your own country. Fixing this system is an absolute necessity and something I want to invest my time in.”

‘We are very happy to have Olivier join our supervisory board and help us elevate our success by solidifying and accelerating a path toward sustainable growth,’ said Sjaak Vink, CEO and founder of everyone.org. ‘His unique experience is sure to put us on the fast track to achieving our mission of creating global access to health for everyone. With this new partnership, we look forward to reaching and helping more patients than ever before.’

As the newest member of everyone.org Supervisory board, van Duijn joins the board Chairman, former EU commissioner Neelie Kroes (also a member of Salesforce's Board of Directors, as well as Uber's Public Policy Advisory Board), Willemijn Verloop (founder and director of Social Impact Ventures and former founder and CEO of War Child), and Jamie Heywood (co-founder of everyone.org, influential speaker, scientist, big-data expert and founder of Patients Like Me).

everyone.org supervisory board also welcomes the former director of Merck International, Stijn Ehren who is bringing with him a  wealth of knowledge and experience from the pharmaceutical field.
