#1: Xtandi (enzalutamide)

Xtandi has been approved for use in late-stage castration-resistant prostate cancer since 2012 ¹. Since then, it has gained additional approvals as well, as follows:

• for treating non-metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC);
• for treating metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer (mCSPC);
• for treating non-metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer (nmCSPC) with biochemical recurrence (BCR) at high risk of metastasis. Xtandi is the first androgen receptor signaling inhibitor approved in this earlier stage of prostate cancer. It can be combined with a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analog or used as a standalone treatment ².

Is Xtandi available in Nigeria?

How successful is enzalutamide plus talazoparib for prostate cancer?

• 67% of patients treated with Xtandi + Talzenna had their tumors shrink or disappear, compared to 40% in the control group;
• Patients with BRCA1/BRCA2 mutations had an 80% lower risk of cancer progression following treatment with Xtandi + Talzenna. For patients without the gene mutation, the risk was lowered by 32% ¹⁰.

Is Talzenna (talazoparib) available in Nigeria?
