The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a wearable device to treat opioid withdrawal symptoms such as agitation, anxiety, depression, and opiate cravings, according to the manufacturer.
The device works via nerve field stimulators which are designed to provide comfort and mobility to patients. The device can be worn and the treatment taken for up to 5 days. However, some reports show symptoms of opioid withdrawal were reduced within 30 to 60, according to the manufacturer.
